As a candidate for office I am asking you for your vote. In order to vote for me you must…
- Be registered to vote in Orleans Parish
- Live in District B
- Declare yourself a Democrat
Check my registration.
Make sure you’re registered by logging in at the Louisiana State Geaux Vote portal with your First and Last Name, Zip Code and Birth Month and Year. If successful, you will see a list of useful links that describe your information, important dates, districts you belong to and offices you can contact.
Click on Print Voter Registration Card and you’ll see a summary of the results. A copy of this card will also be mailed to you after any changes. I’ve highlighted some important fields.

What is my City Council District? Am I a Democrat?
Your voting location is determined by your precinct, the smallest political unit that contains you and all your neighbors who vote in the same spot. At the top your party may be “No Party,” “Independent,” or hopefully “Democratic.” You don’t have to pay dues to declare yourself a Democrat. You can switch your party at any time. If you’re registered and want to change your affiliation, click here.
What makes you a Democrat? By saying so. If you want to join another party, even after voting for me, you can do so at any time.
This is where it gets weird. Emptier parishes are run under an ancient system known as the Police Jury. Even though larger parishes have different systems, and that in Orleans Parish we have a Mayor and a City Council, your City Council district is still known as the Police Jury district. Mine is District B.
What are these other districts? Who represents me?
I’m not registered. What do I do?
However you want to vote, it’s important to be registered to Vote. If you have a Driver’s License or State ID, it’s easy to register online! You can click here.
You must swear that…
- You’re a citizen.
- You’ll be 18 on election day. (You can register early at 17 years.)
- You’re not currently “under order of imprisonment for a felony.”
- You’re not under a judgement that suspends your right to vote.
Newbies and changes take two weeks to show up in the election lists. To vote for me you must be a registered and affiliated as a Democrat by March 14!
